Some 20 cars took the start here, 15 Carreras and 3 Panteras. Fastest in practice was Fitzpatrick, the quickest Pantera only sixth, suffering from handling problems, like the other De Tomasos too.

Fitz took the lead after the start, followed by a group consisting of Ballot-Léna, Schickentanz, Keller and Haldi. First retirement was Casoni’s Pantera (engine), soon followed by the “Gero” car. In the closing stages of heat 1, Keller passed teammate Schickentanz, while Haldi dropped back with gearbox problems.

The same fight in heat 2: Fitzpatrick disappeared, the following group entertaining the audience. Keller, looking destined for a third place finish once again, did it all wrong and spun in the Bosch curve.
