At the Spring Meeting was certainly less public than there was at the Belgian Grand Prix, but the races were interesting.
The first race was for touring cars under 1600 cc. Initially it was led by Holvoet, with its fast Toyota Celica, until his left rear tire got a slow puncture. De Deyne, already close, took over in lap 6 but Holvoet hung on to save second. Marquet won the 1300 class with his Simca Rallye 2, a spare car since his usual mount had an accident.
The most spectacular accident in this first race was undoubtedly Polak who went off with a broken wheel of his Alfa.

In race 2, Tricot (Commodore) took the lead, followed closely by Lotus Europa of “Dex” and another Commodore, that of Goldstein, who showed his talent by taking the lead in lap 3, though Tricot fought back in lap 4.
Lap 7 saw Goldstein in front once again, but the next round it was Tricot who took over - for good. Bourgoignie won the 2000 cc class and Mattozza (Alfa Giulia) won Group 1B. In the end, Goldstein was disqualified for technical infringements on the Commodore.

Race 3 consisted of Group 1B and 3 over 1600 cc, as well as Group 2 and 4 under 1600 cc.
Davit, with the Pantera, took an early lead ahead of Regout and it remained so during the whole race, only Vanierschot, Alpine, able to follow. Behind them things were more interesting, like the eventuel fourth Holvoet who recovered magnificently from a bad start.

The fourth and final race of the day was reserved for the big Group 2 and 4 cars. Peltier took the lead and was never challenged, followed by Haxhe, Xhenceval and De Fierlant, though the latter had to retire.
