Because of the mishap at the last race at Zolder, if Peltier would want to clinch the title he not only had to win the race; the Belgian regulations were complicated, so he had to put the car on pole as well as being in the lead halfway the race. His main opponents for the title were Tricot and “Dex”, and threat of rain did not make life any easier for him.
For the first race, the track was dry still, and the race was dominated by Holvoet with his Toyota Celica, after a short fight with De Deyna (Alfa).
Rain set in, and in race B Tricot (Commodore) won ahead of “Dex” (Lotus Europa) and Wauters. Tricot was now the virtual champion, but two races had to take place yet.
The Luigi BMWs of Xhenceval and Demol won race C, but only after Regout dropped out.
Then, finally, the fourth race of the championship of Belgium, where Peltier started from pole. A good start, and he led ahead of teammate De Fierlant and they were never challenged to the flag, where they celebrated a 1-2 and a deserved Belgian Championship for Peltier.
