The weather was appalling this weekend, particularly for those races in the late morning and early afternoon.

The last race of the morning programme showed fifteen Group 2 500 cc starters, for 10 laps in the rain. At the start Squarise took the lead, followed by Battilani and Razzolino. Third place was hotly contested between the latter and Drovandi, but halfway through the race we already had lost Baldanzi, Simonini, Pecchioli and finally Drovandi. Squarise won with ease.

The rain continued after the pause, and the classes 600, 700 and 850 took the start, with only a single 850 car present. Halfway through the race, Nocci was leading with Ciardi led the 600 class. Gasperini (600) retired after setting fastest lap time, and then Bigazzi and Castagnini retired as well; in 700 we lost "Barnaby" while Betti left the track. Ciardi and Nocci won their class without much trouble.
Another 10 lap-race for 1000, 1150 and 1300 cc cars; always out of ten laps. A fight was expected between the GTA Juniors of Ghislotti and Dini, but Ghislotti led after the start while Dini came in to check the tires, not suitable for the wet track...
Meanwhile, Ghislotti and Camathias (128 1150 Trivellato injection) had a surprising fight; three-quarters of a lap Camathias managed to lead, but then Ghislotti took over and won with a fastest lap of 2.38,8; Camathias won 1150 while Dini finished third on eleven seconds after a great comeback, while Pasotti won the 1000 cc class in his Mini.

Group 2 over 1300 cc started on a dry track, the 1600 class won by Belli after a midnight session to replace a broken piston, while the 2000 cc class was initially led by Sacchini, but “Alval” passed an won the race.

GT Group 4
The rain might have gone, but the clouds were still very dark which made tire choice tricky. When the rain set in again, it became even more difficult and when polesitter Bonomelli drives a lap in the race director’s car things were even more confusing.
Finally the cars set off, and at the first corner the Pantera of “Gero” was in trouble, but Bonomelli (Porsche Carrera) got a huge lead after lap 1, more than 17 seconds ahead of Gallo (De Tomaso). The fight between "Tambauto" (Carrera) and Gottifredi (Pantera) was noteworthy and they finished way behind Bonomelli but with the tiniest of margins in favour of “Tambauto” in second and third.
