In the smallest group 1 race, van Dongen was already champion, and left the race tot Bob Krijnen. But the next class, Lammers was not champion yet. After an unusual fourth in practice, he started slowly but halfway in the race Lammers was in the lead and the champagne bottles were taken from the fridge. Alas, Lammer’s rear wheel broke off in Tarzan corner, and since Bökenkamp won young Jan had the first big disappointment of his career. But he was one of the first to congratulate the new champion.

The field of the bigger group 1 cars was led by Slotemaker, just in front of Coorengel’s BMW, which was not legal we learnt after the finish. Fred Frankenhout had engine problems, so Rob was champion. From the lower ranks, champions Abbenes and Deen did not enter - were they afraid that their cars would be proven illegal? - so victory went to Blom (F 22.500 class) and Post (F 15.000).

A surprise entry was a Group 2 Camaro for Fred Frankenhout - not to help Vermeulen with the championship (he was out of contention), but to help to sell this car - its owner Chris Tuerlinx had died in a traffic accident the year before. A good race might increase interest - but since the car leaked oil on the starting grid, it never started the race.
Siewertsen had hired a second Carrera from Kremer, so he had a choice of two cars: the powerful new one, whose handling left a little to be desired, and his own car. He decided for the Kremer car, to the grief of his star engineer Karel Oudewortel, and won the race in front of Vermeulen, who tried to follow but had to let Cees go after a slight problem at Panorama corner. Akersloot, after a good start, fell back with temperature problems - so the championship was for Siewertsen, after an exciting year in which he even tested a Brabham formula 1 car. And all that after a season of Simca racing in 1973...
More champions from this race: Han Tjan crowned his late challenge (he missed the first races) after a big fight with van Oorschot. He too was well prepared for this race: Janspeed technicians were flown in to improve the car even further. Hettelder claimed his championship too, after a fourth spot. Kok, already champion in the 1000 cc class, retired early in the race.
