It should have been a race between three countries (Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands); in the end, the Netherlands won all races.

The group 2 under-1300 field was initially led by Redeker, but Tjan soon took over and won easily. Class wins were scored by Antonides (Datsun) and Hettelder (Fiat).

The big guns had troubles at the start. After the flag fell, Siewertsen, Akersloot and a German guest tried to enter Tarzan corner three abreast. It did not work, so Siewertsen and Akersloot touched and went into the sand. Vermeulen, from row 2, took the lead; Akersloot had to pit with a flat tire and brake problems. Siewertsen however recovered and closed in on Vermeulen. A close fight, finally in Tarzan corner Siewertsen took the outside line and went past. Something had to be wrong with the BMW - and it was: since three laps, a slow puncture on the left front slowing the BMW. He reached the finish though (in second place) but the tire blew just before the finish line, Huub trying to avoid the barriers but the car touched them anyway. The 2000 cc class was won by Berg.
