The yearly club meeting on the airfield circuit near Bergen op Zoom was held for the last time. It was a single day meeting with new challenges for the drivers. Short gearing was called for, the surface was abrasive and the track was short - we would call it a Mickey Mouse circuit these days.

Jan Lammers was only fourth after practice in his race, and could not keep up with Mattijssen and van Dedem in the race. His start was furious though, trying on the outside, but the result was that he touched with Frans de Vos, who retired with a flat tire. Lammers dropped back to sixth, but fought back to a creditable third spot in the end, behind Mattijssen and van Dedem. A surprise in the F 7500 class; van Dongen won his first race, his best result to date had been a sixth place.

The big Group 1 race had a surprise entry of Hans Deen in Sam van Lingen’s GTV. Coronel was quite a bit faster, but Deen visibly enjoyed himself, exchanging paint with Hettinga. The latter dropped back with engine maladies. Deen continued and nearly hauled in Frankenhout’s Commodore, who limped to the finish with a flat tire.

The little screamers then: A lonely victory for Daniëls in 1150, while the smallest class was won by Ernst Antonides in the Cherry, when team-mate Koks lost time with an electrical problem.

The big class of the group 2 race was combined with the sports cars. Behind the cars of Van Straaten and Bosman, it was Chiotakis who took the lead in the Touring car section with his Porsche with was well suited for this tight track. He won in front of Janssen, with Akersloot third in the Capri. The 2 litre class was won by Engeman, who was not alone in the Escort (she would become mother in spring 1974), an easy victory since Berg did not have any brakes to speak of. Dijkstra won the 1300 class, despite a spin after the start on cold tires (no time for a warm-up lap at Woensdrecht); he was hit by Deen, who damaged his air intake which cost him the race. Van Oorschot retired with a puncture.
