Porsche scored 16 out of 18 entries here; the only opposition in the form of a Datsun 240Z and a little Alpine 1300. Of course, another Porsche victory here.
Fitzpatrick claimed pole, and he took the lead after the start, followed by Ballot-Lena, Schickentanz in the second Kremer car and Bonomelli. Schickentanz passed the Frenchman, while Fitzpatrick dropped back when his gear lever knob fell off and interfered with his brake pedal, just when he was negotiating the hairpin.

Ballot-Lena, driving masterly here, retook Schickentanz and drove away, 15 seconds in front of Schickentanz, third Fitzpatrick.
Fitz’ engine was damaged in heat 1 - he could not take the start of heat 2. Ballot-Lena took the lead, followed by Schickentanz, who was instructed to stay close to him, to force the Frenchman to make a mistake. The Frenchman had other ideas though; he let Schickentanz by, and followed him to the finish - on aggregate, Ballot-Lena was the winner, Schickentanz second and Bonomelli third.
