Stuck was moved to the Koepchen BMW this time, to steal points away from Glemser. He was spectacular and fast in practice, while Menzel was fastest in division 1, in front of Schickentanz, Heyer and Fritzinger. Klaus was given a works engine to replace his own one which had a cracked cylinder head.

The two divisions took the start together, Fritzinger in the lead, Schickentanz blocking the rest of the field a little, but Menzel escaped and took over after lap 1. The order now was Menzel, Fritzinger, Heyer, Schickentanz, Stenzel, Stuck, division 1 leader, Glemser, Ludwig and Basche.
Stuck retired when he drove over a marker tire which was thrown on the track by a Porsche, damaging a track rod. Heyer passed Fritzinger, while halfway in the race Schickentanz’ car was on fire. A retirement and the end of his championship chances.
That was it, the cars came in in just the same order.
