The GT field moved to Estoril. A weak entry with no opposition for Porsche.

For the first time, both Kremer cars and Haldi had 2940 cc engines, with more horsepower (15) and more torque. The Kremer cars were fastest in practice, but Ballot-Lena was third, still with a 2,8 engine.

Keller won heat 1, with Schickentanz in second. It was to be reserved for heat 2; Schickentanz should be first overall, to claim points in his hunt for points leader Ballot-Lena.

But it went wrong. Sure enough, Schickentanz took the lead in heat 2 and won - but Keller was a close second, being hunted by Haldi, finishing only 1,3 seconds behind. Since his lead from heat 1 was over 3 seconds, it meant that Paul Keller was the winner. Haldi came third overall, with Ballot-Lena fourth.
