Group 1 under F 8500
No championship in Group 1 yet, but the race was fierce as usual. Van Kempen and Daniëls (Fiat 128) seemed to hold the upper hand over Hugenholtz (Escort) for much of the race - but a classic slipstream finish saw Daniëls only in third, after van Kempen and Hugenholtz.

Group 1 over F 8500
Opel-time once again for the DNRT; a win for Huub Vermeulen in the Commodore (after quite a fight with Hettinga), Rien Frankenhout in the Manta and Fred Frankenhout in an Ascona, borrowed from Belgian Opel dealer Chris Tuerlinx.

Group 2
Two championships were already decided: Dijkstra (1000 cc) and Akersloot (over 1300 cc). The latter was beaten by Chiotakis in the Capri, who had improved his car with a new compound of Firestone tires (ZB25). Wagenaar Hummelinck won the 1000 cc class in the absence of Dijkstra.
But two championships had to be decided yet. Deen would be champion when he finished in second place, if Boshuis won. But poor Boshuis lost the championship on the grid: his clutch gave up, and he would not even complete the first lap. The new champion was free to race with van Oorschot now, diced the whole race through and became a worthy champion by beating the NSU in the last lap.
The other championship at stake was the 1150 class; whoever won (Tjan or Strous) would be champion. The battle was intense, and the cars made contact at Tarzan corner when Strous left his braking a little too late. A damaged headlight seemed to be the only consequence, and since Strous knew his car was faster at the straight he decided to follow Tjan closely and make his move at the last lap. Alas, it was not to be since his front suspension broke and the car came to a halt, nose-down. Daf and Tjan were champions!
