Since this run was combined with the European Hillclimb Championship, entries were ample here. In practice, Stuck was fastest in division 1, in division 2 Menzel took the fastest time. Unlucky was Basche; on Friday morning, he was distracted by vibrations in his new fuel-injected car, unfortunately at full speed, missing his breaking point, went through the bushes into the trees. In the afternoon, with injured wrists, he took over Waldegaards carburettor car, misjudged a corner and sheered his left front wheel off. The GS crew repaired this car during the night, on the next day Basche found himself fifth fastest.

The most difficult part for the drivers was tire temperature, especially at front. Most tried soft compounds.

In division 2, Menzel had troubles at the start, and tried to make up time - which did not work out at all, he came off the track, punctured a rear tire, went on, lost control and sheared off another front wheel. Schüler was fastest, before Basche and hill climber Bock.

Division 1 was Stuck’s, leading Fritzinger, while Soler-Roig was only fifth. Barth and Andersson were the biggest drifters of the Porsches, but Haldi and Fischhaber (3rd and 4th) were faster.
