The final race for the 1972 DRM - and Mass had a go at it, in the Bulova car, taking over from Heyer, who in turn took over the Grab car. Barth had changed the Grab Capri for Schickentanz’ Porsche. Practice saw a few incidents because of wet spots on the track, like Heyer who rolled his just just before the finish. Stuck was fastest, division 1 was lead by Menzel just in front of local boy Cramer.

On Sunday, 2 runs were to be made, aggregate times counting for the points. Mostly, the order of practice was kept, only Obermoser improved from 4 to 2.
