The second race for the championship brought the exiting new De Tomaso Pantera - three of them. Jacquemin was the fastest in practice, second after Ballot-Lena. Fitzpatrick and Larrousse did not enter - they were busy elsewhere (Salzburg ETCC and Brands Hatch respectively).
Ballot-Lena won his heat and the final, with Jacquemin second. Herbert Müller retired with a broken engine.
