Group 2 only today, once again, since on this date we would have expected the Grand Prix - and Group 2 has always been the support act.
But since the FIA only issued a license for the lower categories, the maximum which could be organised was Super Vee and the GT Europa Cup.
The GT race is described elsewhere, so lets concentrate to the Group 2 race. No new cars, but a new face behind the wheel of the Alfa Romeo GTAm of Toine Hezemans: John Fitzpatrick. He was on the circuit anyway, Hezemans was not so Fitz took over, and with his Dutch license (!) he could even take points away from the opposition for his old friend.
He had to get used to the Alfa, but trained to a front-row position, next to Akersloot and Slotemaker. Akersloot disappeared into the distance, Slotemaker disappeared into the catch fencing on lap 1, while Fitzpatrick finished second, in front of Chiotakis, so not only helping Hezemans but certainly Akersloot too...
Boshuis had to start from the rear with a 5 second penalty, and this (and a spin on oil) was just enough to prevent him from beating winner Deen, still without sponsor. The 1150 class was won by Tjan, beating fair and square Strous, to compensate for last race. Last but not least, Dijkstra won the 1000 cc class easily, since Kok retired early with a blown head gasket.
