A dull race day on the airfield track this year. Hardly any excitement, not even the row about Slotemaker (who was suspended for one month following his behaviour at the GP meeting) - team-mate Zwaanenburg even starting here. The only fight in the group 1 races was the fight for second behind Frankenhout between van der Mast and Vermeulen. The other group 1 race was won by Kok without much difficulty. In the small Group 2 race, for once Leeuwenburgh passed Dijkstra into the hairpin, but Dijkstra took P1 back within one lap an duly won. It was the last victory for the little car; one week later, the car was destroyed in a fire at Dijkstra’s shed. The other group 2 race was won by Lubin, who had been fastest in practice as well - there was nothing Chiotakis could do about that. In the 1300 class, van Oorschot, Boshuis and Akersloot all retired, leaving the victory to Lubin’s team-mate Engeman who defeated Dirks in a straight fight. |
