This meeting proved to be a little too straight; cars which were too late for official practice could only take part if another competitor did not make the start. This fate befell Spiess, Bilz and Stuck - the latter the only one who could start eventually - from behind. Under-2 litre touring then; Mass raced a Schnitzer-2002, tired of waitin for the Capri, Peschek an Alpina 2002, Hessel an Alfa Romeo and Stuck a Koepchen 2002. The latter had to start from behind as said, and had to retire soon. Mass and Hessel moved away from the field, and while Hessel could no longer keep up Mass was the victor here. The 1300 GT race was won local hero by Betzler. 21 cars took the start for the 2-litre GT race, where three VW-Porsches swept the board. The final race was for the big touring and GT cars; no excitement here, since Wetzel and Fröhlich were missing. Class victories were won by Forster (Commodore), Albert (Camaro) and Baur (Porsche). |
