Hard charging behind came Mark Donohue in the Sunoco Javelin, the man who had won the title for Chevrolet before - but he was 19 seconds to the back at flag-fall. Sam Posey's Autodynamics Dodge Challenger was a rousing third, a lap off pace, with Jones' team-mate George Follmer fourth nursing a sick motor. |
