The first of this rather long-distance season-opener was held on Saturday, for the small GT and Touring car classes. Only 4 1000 cc cars took the start, depriving winner Wisskirchen of any championship points. The GT’s were all Alpine, of course, Schulze-Schwering the winner. 850 honours went to Krenzer, while Weiss was handicapped, finishing only 7th. The 700 win was for Rödleithner. The second race was led by Gleich, but in lap 8 he had to give way to Stenzel, who won. Hegels won the 1600 class (third overall), while the Zakspeed Escort of Menzel had troubles all the way, finishing only fifth. 1150 victory was for NSU, with Theo Michels the lucky one, after retirements of his brother Rolf and Thomas Ammerschläger. The last race was for all remaining groups, the BMW coupé of Huber clearly the fastest (although slower overall than the 1300 cc winner of the previous race!), in front of 2-litre victor Schulze (Alfa) and Hessel (Alfa). The GT classes were won by Fröhlich (who started last after troubles in practice) and Kastner. |
