Engstrøm, reigning champion, had switched to a BMW 2002, while Henriksen sold his BMW to Winther and piloted an Opel Kadett from now on. Buch-Larsen was the only Ford challenger left in his Escort TC.
Engstrøm had an easy victory over fellow BMW driver Winther, while Buch-Larsen in third was a long way behind.

Høyer made no secret of his desire to win this championship - he won the class with over 30 seconds over Kristensen, while Borch-Christensen in the small Abarth 1000 finished third.
