Making up for early trouble at Indianapolis the previous day, George Follmer carried off the Bryar Motorsport Park race in his Bud Moore Mustang. Second and third were the Penske-run Sunoco Javelins of Peter Revson and Mark Donohue, although there was a dispute over these placings afterwards. Only 13 of the 25 starters were still running at the end, with Camaros taking fourth to 12th places.
