In the small standard class, there was not much competition for the Fiats. But people kept trying. Three new Honda N600 cars were entered, and surprisingly the car of Van der Palm was quite competitive, beating all Mini’s and finishing 5th behind 4 Fiats, Leniger winning in a 850 coupé. The next race presented 11 NSU’s, van der Pol was fastest away but he spun at Tarzan corner. His race from behind brought him 8th place at the finish. The 1150 class had apart from the Daf’s now yet another NSU and a Renault 8S, which managed to win its class. The 1000 cc class finally was won by Koks. Last but not least: the big guns were won by Hezemans, with a full group 5 911 now; 9 inch wheels with 12” tires at the rear and a Carrera 6 engine with 228 HP. Van Lennep followed into second. A small blower on the 2002 of Koster gave him a class victory over 2500 cc, while the 1600 class was won by Dudok van Heel in a brand-new Escort TC; he was followed by Slotemaker in an unblown Alfa GTA this time. 1300 cc honours went to Chiotakis in front of a Mini/Alfa/NSU fight - in which van Zalinge lost his Alfa in a big crash. |
