It was a Koepchen versus Alpina battle here, but the Alpina cars were way down the grid after practice gremlins. Kelleners and Christmann pulled away while the Alpina cars stormed through the field. When Christmann spun, Kelleners victory was cemented though he had already pulled quite some distance away from the youngster. Christmann was able to keep ahead of the Alpina cars, so the order was unchanged to the finish. Gall, the only Porsche which was supposed to keep up with the BMWs had an early retirement. While the 1600 Alfas were way behind the 2-liter cars but of course won their class, Alfa dominated the 1300 class and finished 1-2 ahead of Kranefuss in a 1300 Zakspeed Escort. |
