In between the sportscars under 2000 cc there were touring cars and GTs driving their own race. Fastest touring car was Kelleners in the Koepchen BMW with 9.49,4 in practice, while Fröhlich clocked fastest GT time with 9.42,4.
Kauhsen took an early lead in GT after Fröhlich dropped back and eventually retired with a broken valve rocker. Kelleners led the touring cars, until he had a puncture, just like teammate Braun. The touring car win went to Becker in a Porsche 911.
