The yearly support race for the F1 grand prix was a championship race this year, albeit only for cars over 1000 cc. The two Porsches of Hezemans and van Lennep were fastest as usual, and Hezemans looked set for another win when his car gave up with ignition problems, leaving the victory for van Lennep. Koster was the fastest non-Porsche, fighting with the Escorts, of which three were entered now. Koster fell back with engine problems, so second overall was for Lubin, beating Dudok van Heel; Akersloot had already retired on lap 8. Koster still finished 4th and won his class (with the fake-compressor trick). The 1300 class was a great fight between Oskamp (Mini) and Chiotakis (Alfa), after van Oorschot dropped back with handling problems and finally a puncture. Chiotakis finally won the class. |
