First of the three Iron Curtain rounds in the European Touring Car Challenge was the Belgrade Grand Prix held on a 4,35-km circuit.
There were two one-hour races. The division I event was dominated by "Pam" In his Fiat-Abarth 1000 TC, who finished no less than two laps In front of Mladen GIuhak's NSU 1000 TTS.

The second race for the bigger cars was much more Interesting. Dieter Quester powered his turbocharged works BMW 2002 TIK into the lead and stayed there, with team-mate Dieter Basche in an "ordinary" works 2002 TI holding station behind. Autodelta driver lgnazio Giunti finished third overall and winner of Division 2 In his Alfa Romeo, just holding off Spaniard Jorge de Bagration's BMW 2002 TI.
