The 850 cc race was exciting with a fight between the two Saabs of Rothstein and Karlsson, Hahne (BMW) and Bontemps (DKW). The DKW seemed the fastest car but a spin cost him the race. When Hahne retired, Karlsson steamed up and won the race. Peter Procter was unable to practice and found himself at the back of the field; Slotemaker, who was on pole, jumped ahead and after just two laps Procter was already second - but unable to catch Slotemaker. The 1000 cc class was won by Mantzel (DKW). The over 1300 cc touring car race was, as expected, dominated by Jaguars 3.8. Peter Lindner took the lead followed by countryman Nöcker, but when Lindner ran out of brakes he left the track, so Sparrow moved up to second and remained there the rest of the race. Trana (Volvo) drove masterfully to third and a class win. |
