Slotemaker, fastest in practice by a margin of over three seconds, was last off the line - but as so often, he was entertaining the crowd and soon he set off - but thanks to the back markers he was 23 seconds behind in lap 6. But with three seconds a lap Slotemaker closed in on van Zalinge,
which excited the crowd, just like the duel for second between Flinterman and “Kallaga”. But Slotemaker worked his way through the field and finally passed van Zalinge, so he won ahead of the Auto-Union, Flinterman and Kallaga.
