Three Jaguars circulated around Snetterton, in the order Parkes, Salvadori and McLaren - the order did not change throughout the race. More action in the 2000 cc class; Hutcheson and Harper battled for a long time, but Hutcheson asked too much of his Riley and the car had to be retired. Lewis had disposed of Blydenstein, and closed in on Harper but despite setting fastest lap he could not pass the Sunbeam. In the baby class, Whitmore had taken a clear lead, but Miss Carlisle showed a fine pace so Whitmore, prime championship candidate, could not cruise but had to fight right until the end.
