A class field here, with GT’s and Touring cars in 2 different classes. Of course, only the 1000 cc touring cars were eligible for championship points. A fine race, with five lead changes.
After the start, Parker (XK150) was in the lead, followed by Gibson (XK120), Baillie (Elite), Stoop (Porsche), Hobbs (XK140) with Shepherd close on his tail - in fact, after both Hobbs and Shepherd had passed Stoop, Shepherd managed to pass Hobbs for an incredible fourth overall! But in lap 15 he had to retire went a wheel went missing.
The top-3 were close together, Parkes losing the lead for a few laps but he managed to get in the lead again, only to be passed by Baillie - but on lap 24, Parker took the lead for good. 1000 cc Touring car class winner was Lewis in an Austin A40.
