A bit of a disappointment, this race; Hutcheson did not pass scrutineering and Shepherd retired on the second lap when he lost it at Clearways and rolled the car. Bill Aston (Jaguar) had a dice with Young (Anglia) but still finished second behind Powell, while Young was third. Hedges (A40) finished ahead of Haynes (Zephyr), having prompted the latter to a new class record.
After the race, Shepherd received the SupaTura Cup for winning the championship. The battered A40 was not able to do a lap of honour, though.
