Japan got its own DRM in 1979. Cars similar to Group 5 did battle on the tracks of Fuji, Tskuba and Suzuka. Small fields, but interesting anyway. There seemed to be some sort of a Group-2 division with separate races, sometimes even events of their own. Strangely enough, there seemed to be immaculate but rather old cars, like the Datsun Sunny and the first generation Civic. Not a Cherry in sight!
