And Then... - The Belgian Championship after 1993
1994
saw the championship reduced to a class 2 championship and the
well-known Procar 2 liter cars. The FIA field was limited to about 10
cars, Tassin was champion. Next year, the field was a bit smaller but
spiced up with BMW compacts and the Peugeot 106 trophy - the beginning
of the end really. Things were better in 1996, though there were now 5
races within the race, for older spec FIA cars too. |
About
10 FIA cars remained for 1997, while in 1998 the FIA class was dropped
in favor of the Super Production rules, better suited for a small
country like Belgium. This continued into the next centry. |
