Goodbye
Group A, hello Supercars: 1993 brought the change. There was a 2-litre
class for FIA class II cars, but after race 1 classes were combined
with a dash for pole, a heat, a final and probably to get the picture
right for Monday's newspaper there was an overall classification.
Points were awarded for fastest qualifier, the dash and both heat and
final, all with different points systems. The result was a 1-2 for
Glenn Seton Racing, with the boss himself as the champion. Another Ford
was third with Bowe, with the first Holden in fourth (Richards). The
2-liter championship was won by Doulman, who was tenth overall in the
championship.
