Shell Australian Touring Car Championship

1991 index

After the classic 1990 season, things could only go down - and it did. Grids shrunk, Godzilla reigned and killed the championship like Audi in France. Apart from two surprise wins by Longhurst, all other rounds were won by the Nissan Skyline. The new VN Holden wasn't quicker than the VL had been, the Sierras were outdated now, despite the newly homologated 6-speed gearbox. Richards won the championship with Skaife second and Longhurst was third in the standings with his BMW M3.
