The information from "Auto & Sport", a Belgian publication, was sketchy as usual; the early races were neglected while the later ones sometimes had extensive reports.
The
main difference to previous years was that there were two separate
races now, for cars under and over 2000 cc. Division 1 was mainly
Sierras with an Audi or two, while division 2 was more crowded with
many Peugeots, VWs and Opels - but the champion would be Tillekaerts in
the Honda CRX, not a Group N car but accepted anyway. In Division 1,
the championship was contested among the experienced Alain Semoulin and
JM Martin with youngsters Verellen and Yves Semoulin doing their part.
Alain Semoulin got the title once again, his sixth in total.
