The
first year of Group A brought unexpected dominance of the previously
troublesome BMW 635 of Jim Richards. It was expected that the car would
be competitive, but 7 wins out of 10 races was something else. The
sinister black car with backing of BMW Australia was in a league of its
own, beating the Ford Mustang of Dick Johnson in the ATCC but also
winning the Endurance champiosnhip as well as the AMSCAR series...
