If all rivals had competed throughout the whole championship, Dick Johnson wouldn’t have won his third title, but since they didn’t he was the dominant and deserved champion. His Falcon XE wasn’t up against the raw speed of Moffat’s Mazda nor Brock’s Commodore, but consistency paid off.
