If 1979 was a low point, 1980 was even worse. The only make which bothered was Lancia; they won their class the first ten races and beat Porsche twice in the over-2000 cc class; they deserved the championship but it was a hollow one. The best part of the championship was that only one would follow, in 1981; and then, this book could be closed.
