The
titles were awarded for cars in Group
1 and 2 of Spanish production, and it paid off; both championships were
open until the very last race. Jódar won in Group 1, while Bäbler won
Group 2, both for Seat - the season had seen some unfriendliness
between Chrysler and Seat.The 1300 cc Group 1 trophy went to the
unlikeliest of racing cars: the Spanish production Citroën GS 1220 of
Fermin Sanchez!
