Championnat de France de Voitures Production

1978 index

1978 was a fine season for French Production. Lots of BMW 530s and Ford Capris, and in the lower classes more than enough Dolomites, Escort RSs, Vauxhall Magnums etc. The top of French racing was present, as well as young talents. To add further spice, Stuart Graham from the UK contested (and won!) many races. Twelve races, grids of 25-30 cars, a long-distance event with even more cars. The Capri came up as the dominant car, though BMW won two rounds as well. The champion was Guitteny, followed by Metge (Dolomite) who won the 2500 cc title.
