Tricentrol British Saloon Car Championship

Little America - 1977 index

The 1977 championship was a real cracker, with exciting races and battles in all classes. The outcome was a bit disappointing; after much hassle about the scoring system, Unett came out on top once again - the third time in four years. His championship was deserved, especially as he got a formidable opponent in Longman in the second half of the season. But poor Tony Dron had much sympathy on his side, after miracle performances beating all Capri's in his Dolomite, and even racing with a broken foot. Third in the championship was Lloyd, a late entry in his Golf GTI. Fourth was young Allam in a Firenza, fifth Spice who had a disappointing season.
