The 1975 championship seemed to fade away just like the ETCC; "Autosprint" spent more attention to the new Renault R5 LS coupe than on the domestic touring car championship. Despite this, the championship stayed open until the very end and the lack of bigger cars (a handful of RS Escorts and little else) did not prevent the top-3 to be very close indeed; some of them even entered in more classes to imcrease their chance for the overall title. In the end, Ciardi with his Fiat Giannini claimed the title, with Nappi second and Finotto third.
