Danish Touring Car Championship

1971 index

Denmark has learned its lesson from last season, and now there were 4 championships both for group 1 and group 2. The smallest championship was a Mini affair with the NSU of Mathiasen spicing up things. He was second in the championship, but Kristoffersen claimed the title - with a Mini Cooper.
The large Group 1 field included two Camaro's, which were way faster than the rest, Nelleman winning the title.
Both group 1 championships suffered from protests.

In Group 2, the reinstated 1300 cc class was won by Høyer as expected, though the Escort of Rasmussen picked up speed during the season. Last but not least it was Winther who took the main title with his Alpina BMW 2800 CS, beating the likes of Engstrøm (Commodore) and the Escorts of Buch-Larsen and Kruuse.
