The traditional German Championship entered the 70's with a new set of rules inspired by the German Mountain Climb championship. But with so many classes, it still wasn't a fair championship. If fewer than 5 cars took the start, no championship points would be awarded, a fate which befell Weiss, for instance. The complicated bonus system was not needed - luckily. But the champion crowned was Hegels, who hardly met any opposition - and when it arrived, Hegels defeated to another class or was beaten...
