In 1969, it was the second and last year for group 5. The last year with fake turbochargers, the last year for the Porsche 911, which would be a GT from 1970 on.
Some new cars in the Netherlands this year; some Alfa Romeo 1300 GTA juniors, three Ford Escort TC's; a few BMW 2002 and, of course, the two dominant Porsches, one a letter more dominant than the other. A silly points system granted championships at mid-season in a few cases; the last race of the year was a non-championship affair.
The standard cars provided excellent racing once again; many incidents - and many close finishes.
