Deutsche Automobil Rundstrecken Meisterschaft

Don't Get Excited - 1968 index

As one of the few countries in Europe, Germany stuck to Group 2 - while the ETCC and many national championships moved on to Group 5. Some races in the DARM were open to Group 5 as well (there were many competitive cars around) but could not score points. The championship had some good racing and a fight for the championship right to the end between Mini driver Schmarje and Schultze, former champion with Alfa Romeo. Fortunately, the complicated bonus point system was not needed - Schultze was the undisputed champion.
